The phrase “Live Like Soy” originated with Sawyer’s best friend’s family. Cole and Sawyer had been great friends for years, so Cole took it pretty hard when Sawyer died during their 4th grade year. Cole’s dad, Donny, was trying to help him through the loss of his best friend.
Donny pulled up the David Price interview to show Cole an example of someone who lost a dear friend and chose to carry his memory with him in some of his proudest and hardest moments. Cole decided on the phrase “live like soy ” to remind him to always have fun, be brave and enjoy every moment. – Rachelle

to me, that no matter how much time is given to us or what our situation is, we have to live life to the fullest and have fun. To go all out, be silly, dance like nobody’s watching, smile, laugh, sing… And maybe fart on someone’s pillow every so often.
To live each day with the knowledge of how much I’m loved and how much love I can give. Also, eat that ice cream, skip instead of walk, laugh hysterically without fear of seeming foolish. Stop and feel what’s happening around you. Be kind, love wholehearted. The journey is the adventure. When I see #LiveLikeSoy
I see a smiling face that tells me to live each day being thankful no matter what’s going on, to smile through the pain, to love like it’s the last day I’ll get to show someone how much they mean to me, to help others every chance I get… but most of all to remind people every day that not enough is being done to help or prevent children from having to go through the suffering of cancer. Soy is my inspiration to push myself beyond my pain and make the most of every day.
